Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswamy
The
temple of Sri Bedi Anjaneya swamy is facing the Mahadwara (Main Entrance) of Sri
Venkateswara shrine. It may also be noted that every time after naivedya is
offered to Lord Srinivasa and Varahaswamy, the naivedya is brought
to this temple.
As per
the vaishnavite customs, either Anjaneya or Garuda is situated opposite to the
main temple. Sri Anjaneya is devotee of Sri Rama while Garuda is for Sri Maha
Vishnu. Accordingly, in Tirumala, Sri Bedi Anjaneyaswami is seen opposite to
the temple.
The legend says that this Anjaneya did not believe
Lord Venkateswara as an Incarnation of Maha Vishnu and Lord Rama .
Then Lord Vekateswara gave darshan in the form of Lord Rama and disappeared.
Repenting for his ignorance, Sri Anjaneyaswami folded his hands and put
"Bedi"to his hands. Hence, He is called as "Bedi
Anjaneyaswamy".
Abhishekam for Sri Anjaneya is performed every
Sunday and special offerings/poojas are celebrated on Hanumath Jayanti."
Devotees, after taking the darshan of Lord
Venkateswara, make a point to visit this temple and seek the blessings of Bedi Anjaneya Swamy (Hanuman) also.
