The Khairatabad Ganapathi , 59 Feet tall , Trishakthi Murthi
is the manifestation of this year
Ganesha Festival at Hyderabad. Devotees
participate in the 11-day festival and thousands of people visit from other
parts of the state, outside Hyderabad and also India.
Ganesha Chaturthi or Ganesha Festival is a day
on which Lord Ganesha, the son of Shiva and Parvati, is believed to bestow his
presence on earth for all his devotees. It is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi
or Vinayaka Chavithi. It is celebrated as it is the birthday of Lord Ganesha.
The festival is observed in the Hindu calendar month of Bhaadrapada, starting
on the shukla chaturthi (fourth day of the waxing moon period). Typically, the
day falls sometime between 20 August and 15 September. The festival lasts for
10 days, ending on Ananta Chaturdashi. This festival is observed in the lunar
month of bhadrapada shukla paksha chathurthi madhyahana vyapini purvaviddha.
On the request of Saints, Rishis Lord Shiva made Ganesha the
Vighnadhipathi. On praying Ganesha hindrance/obstacles are remoed for well being and
life is made peaceful ,and when a person is attracted to bad ways of life Lord
Ganesh creates hindrance/obstacles so that he does not fall prey to bad habits and misdoings does not travel in unwanted terrains (route) and lord Ganesh
put the devotee on right track. As such blessings of Lord Ganesh are very
important to safegaurd and sheild us from evils from all walks of life.
In , Hyderabad Khairatabad Ganapathi is most sought after for Moorthi’s
Granduer and other arrangements. This year Ganesha Idol with 59 feet Height ,Godess Saraswathi, Godess Lakshmi, On one side Bhadrakali and Gajendra Moksham on the otherside is feast to eyes to watch.
Late Mr. S. Sankarayya freedom fighter, in 1954 founded Sri
Ganesh Utsav Committee, Khairatabad, Hyderabad. Since then every year it
developed with the constant effort of Mr. S. Sankarayya’s family and friends
and committee members.
The work on 59 feet Idol started on June 12th
2015 with artists from Telangana, AP, Tamilnadu and Maharastra states .
5600 Kg Laddu made in Tapeswaram, East Godavari Andhra pradesh, is
put on the hand of Ganapathi which is made with 2250 kg sugar,1500kg of Bengal
Gram, 1100 kg of Cow Ghee, 380 Kg of Cashew nut, 90 kg badam 10kg Yellow
Camphor.
The Governor Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh offered First Pooja and inaugurated .
